A 17-year-old is in custody and is being charged for the January shooting of Rosedale resident Oluwatishe Oluwatamilore Ilori, 22, who was struck multiple times by the gunman, according to investigators.

Shortly after 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan 17, deputies were called to the area of Harford Square Drive at O&P Court in Edgewood to investigate reports of shots fired with one person down.

Upon arrival, they found Ilori suffering from gunshots to both the upper and lower body.

First responders treated Ilori until a state police helicopter arrived to rush the shooting victim to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for further treatment and evaluation.

The investigation by the Harford County Sheriff's Office led police to identify the juvenile as a suspect, and arrest warrant was issued for first-degree attempted murder, leading to an execution of that warrant on Friday, leadign to his arrest.

According to the sheriff's office, the teen was taken into custody without incident, and detectives recovered a loaded HK Smith and Wesson .40 caliber handgun. The suspect was taken to the Harford County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation, though a spokesperson for the sheriff said that a backpack containing marijuana was found inside Ilori's car, where he was shot.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting has been asked to contact investigators by calling (410) 836-5430.
